The life path in numerology
The life path is the most influential number in your chart. Calculated from your full date of birth, it describes the trajectory of this life: what you came to learn, and the situations life will place in front of you to get you there.
How the life path is calculated
Add every digit of the date of birth, then reduce the total to a single digit — except when the result is 11, 22 or 33, which are kept as master numbers.
Example — for a birth on 23 July 1990: 2+3+0+7+1+9+9+0 = 31, then 3+1 = 4. The life path is 4.
Unlike the expression number, which depends on the name and can therefore change over a lifetime, the life path is fixed. That is what makes it the pivot of any numerological reading.
The twelve life paths
The master numbers
Three numbers escape reduction: 11, 22 and 33. They carry the vibration of the number they reduce to — 2, 4 and 6 respectively — but with a greater amplitude and a proportionate demand.
A point often misunderstood: carrying a master number does not mean living permanently at that level. Most of the people concerned function in the register of the reduced number for years, and reach their own vibration only gradually — sometimes never. That is not a failure, it is the rhythm of this path.
